Prepare, Respond and Recover

Local Resilience Forum partners work together to assess risk and develop emergency plans, as part of their Civil Contingencies Act 2005 duties. These partners work together to ensure that the necessary plans are in place, are tested and proven to ensure both an organisation's individual, and the multi-agency, response are effective.

Local Resilience Forum partners can activate response and recover structures to assist in responding to large-scale emergencies, when a combined multi-agency coordination would result in a more effective and efficient outcome.

Identifying Risks

Our collective work focuses on saving lives, relieving suffering, protecting property and reducing environmental damage. Also, minimising a disaster’s impacts, thereby enabling normality to resume. The Local Resilience Forum collectively produces the Cumbria Community Risk Assessment to prioritise the work of the forum.
