Cumbria Prepared is the website for Cumbria Local Resilience Forum.

Local Resilience Forum

Cumbria Local Resilience Forum covers the whole of Cumbria and is made up of a wide range of organisations. A Local Resilience Forum (LRF) plans to prepare for, respond to, and recover from major emergencies or incidents in the UK.

Category 1 responders

Category 1 responders are part of the Local Resilience forum, and include:

  • British Transport Police
  • Cumberland Council
  • Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service
  • Cumbria Police
  • Environment Agency
  • HM Coastguard
  • NHS England
  • North West Ambulance Service
  • Westmorland and Furness Council

Category 2 responders

Some organisations are not part of the LRF, but work with us. These include:

  • Met Office
  • National Highways
  • Network Rail
  • Northern Gas
  • Telecommunications (BT)
  • UK Health Security Agency

Voluntary agencies

Highly skilled voluntary organisations in Cumbria help resolve emergencies with responders. Sometimes this can be over county boundaries. These include:

  • Civil Air Support
  • CVS - Community Partnerships
  • Maryport Rescue
  • Mountain Rescue teams from across Cumbria
